Braided line basics

Braid is a great line. It gives you the ability to cast farther, has awesome sensitivity, and great strength. It also has drawbacks such as people complaining about line digging into itself, back lashing, and missing fish. This can all be solved by setting your drag LOWER! Yes, braid has no stretch so the drag is set lower so when you hook a fish, it doesn't dig into itself which will cause a terrible backlash the next time you cast. Also, it will help you not rip the hook from the fishes mouth.

Mono is a line that has alot more stretch than anglers realize and when you set that hook, you have to really set it and with braid a minor sweep set is all that's in order unless you have to pull a bass out of the trees.

Hope this helps.
